Bluies
A term used to describe a coat color that has a distinct blue sheen or a bluish cast to it. The eye rims, lips and nose are generally a reddish or gray pigmentation in dogs the exhibit the "Bluies" coat color traits.
Merle
A unique marking pattern, used in conjunction with another color characterized by a marbling effect of dark patches against a lighter background of the same color.
Brindle
A striped pattern usually in conjunction with another color. Brindles typically have a light base color "usually fawn, brown or blue") and the Brindle "tiger striping" pattern is generally either black or chocolate.
Sable
A coat color produced by black-tipped hairs on various background colors such as fawn, red and blue: usually in a tri pattern. Sables are genetic tri-colored dogs. Basically a Sable is an under developed Tri.
Lilac
Imagine mixing blue and brown paint, you would get some shade of purplish Lilac. The nose, eyeliner, & pads of Lilac colored dogs will always be some shade of Lilac.
Seal
A term used to describe a coat color that has a distinct reddish or brown cast to it, especially when viewed in the sun or bright light. Seal coloring is usually partnered with lighter eye coloration.
Tri Markings / Pattern
A coat with three colors in a distinct pattern in very specific locations on the dog. A Tri colored Bulldogge typically displays "points" of a third color on an otherwise bi-colored dog. The "points" are usually light fawn or golden brown and are found just above the eyes, on the cheeks, sides of chest and inner front of each leg. The four color variations of Tri are Black Tri, Blue Tri, Chocolate Tri and Lilac Tri. Tri colored Bulldogges can be entirely full coated, with only a small amount of white on the chest to a more piebald pattern, with the majority of the coat being white but still displaying the specific Tri pattern.
